Homework Time!

Ever since Andrew started Pre-K, he has had homework each week. Typically there is a writing worksheet and something having to do with math. It's not a lot of homework, but for a 4 year old it can be overwhelming. I've learned to become a cheerleader - trying to encourage instead of becoming frustrated when he gets frustrated (which happens about 1 minute after he starts his homework!)

Tonight, he had a bit more to do then normal because we were so busy throughout the beginning of the week. I was trying to make dinner, Keith was emptying the dishwasher and Alex had just gotten home. Bless his heart, Alex decided to take on the homework helper role. As soon as I turned around and saw the big child and the little child, I forgot about dinner and grabbed my camera. Too, too cute.

And, for some added humor, prior to homework time Andrew decided to put his footy pajamas on upside down and backwards. He giggled and giggled - completely cracked himself up. Of course, he had to give Keith the "You can't get my booty" pose. :-)

I know you are all so shocked I posted (and by "you all" I mean the one person left reading this blog!). Believe it or not, I miss blogging... really need to get back with it! :-) I have a Christmas post (about our tradition with Andrew) and of course, I need to tell you about Max - the Elf that has come to visit us! Right now, I'm off to spend some quality time with my hubby and watch Julie and Julia!

Hugs!
Becky

Well, it hasn't been THAT long since you posted . . . but I must admit, yours is the first update I'm reading this morning . . . What a cutie Andrew is!

As a teacher, I gotta put in my 2 cents . . . I think pre-K is a bit young for homework . . .

Homework in Pre-K? My oldest is awful about doing homework! It was very sweet that Alex wanted to help Andrew.

I love your blog. Your pictures are great! Andrew is so darn cute! It is obvious how much the boys love each other.

So so sweet. Big, very, very smart brother teaching little brother. Andrew being taught by Alex is setting a excellent example that is never too early for him to learn. Look how great Alex is doing? Have we heard from Vanderbilt yet? And I have to agree, I miss your blogging. It was my almost only way to know what was happening in Mixon household. Bet I can guess, Max is another cat! Is the tree up yet? Has Callie torn it down already?
Have fun holidays kids. We love and miss you.

Every time I see Andrew with his glasses on, I'm amazed at how you have been able to get him to wear them. The doctor just chewed us out for not working harder at making Liam wear his so we are on a new mission. I can see with the Pre-K homework in his future how important this is going to be.

Don't apologize for your blogging gaps. I know the feeling of not having time.

Cooper is in pre-K too and doesn't have homework yet! The pics are sooo great with the big and little ones... love it!

I know what you mean about no one reading! I really don't think anyone reads my blog either! No one ever leave a response so I'm thinking about shutting it down..
I'm glad you didn't though!

I read it also. Hershal is our elf and boy does our little Andrew pay attention. Did you know our Hershal speaks to our Andrew and no one else can hear him? Go figure.
