An "awwwww..." moment

So, I'm having a crummy day. A "sit-in-the-bathroom-and-cry" kind of day but, well, I'm at work and I don't think anyone would appreciate hearing that. Actually, it's been one of those weeks, but I just now reached the "cry in the bathroom" stage. I know, I know... whoa is me! :-)

Anyhow, I had a cute conversation with Andrew in the morning. He was watching Veggie Tales and they were talking about being anything you want to be when you grow up. Our conversation went like this:

Andrew: Mommy? What can I be when I grow up?

Me: You can be anything you want to be! What do you want to be?

Andrew: I want to be... ummm... just a part of our family!

Me: You'll always be part of our family! You could be a fireman or a policeman or a doctor! Anything you want to be!

Andrew: No one in our family is a fireman, policeman or doctor! (duh!) I want to be what someone in our family does! (true 4 year old speak!) I think I just want to be the big brother.

Awwwww.... so sweet isn't it? I didn't take it as though he wants a little brother, but more that he wants to be like Alex when he grows up. Hey - if he's like Alex when he grows up, you will not hear me complaining! :-) Alex has been a dream teenager, if there is such a thing! :-)

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Oh little girl, I think we both are having Ahhhhh moments at same time, different states. Trying to be Superwoman is trying. I learned long time ago, I'm no good at it. You need to take better care of yourself. No one else can do it better than you. And where would we all be if no you??? Don't want to think about it. You are right, Alex is awesome. And if Andrew grows up wanting to be like Alex, that is terrific! As for Keith & yard, just one year I want to be there in the fall and plant hundreds of tulips, lilies, and daffodils in that front garden area, & watch your face when they pop up in the spring. I'd love that. Personally, I think you all are one fabulous family unit, but I might be just a little prejudiced.

You okay? I'm a little worried about you and this crying in the bathroom...

And yes, that is a serious "awwww..." moment about Andrew wanting to be like Alex when he is older. Those little moments are what it's all about.

So cute! I love that being in a family is what really matters to Andrew - how honest and true!

Hope you are well.

Hey Becks,

It's nice to know someone else has those crying in the bathroom moments too. Well, me I just flop on my bed and wail. LOL! That was such a sweet thing Andrew said!
