The first day of Kindergarten went splendidly. Andrew was SO excited and he even came home with a smiley face in his agenda. Of course, on day two he came home with a smiley face and a note that read “Was very talkative until he was given a warning”. Yep, my son is a chatterbox and is already testing the waters. :-)
Without further ado… pictures from the first day of Kindergarten!
Waking up… slowly!
Big smile from my big boy!!
Doesn’t he looks so little with that big ol’ book bag?
Walking to school with dad.
(And yes, he’s grabbing himself. It’s a common occurrence lately. I’ve reassured him that it’s not going anywhere. :-))
In the doorway of his class. This year’s theme is “Wild About Learning”, thus the animal print.
Mrs. P., showing Andrew what to do with his book bag each day.
Mrs P. and Andrew picking out lunch for the day (as mommy and daddy were reluctantly leaving their baby behind!!)
And how about a comparison? Here was my little guy in September of 2008. Fast forward, 1 year and 11 months later.
WOW!!! This is the first time I’ve looked at these pics side by side. What a big boy we have! I really wish I had a picture the day Pre-K started, but for some reason I don’t. Wow, wow, wow…
Off to give my little buddy an extra kiss tonight, because as these pictures show, they don’t stay little forever! :-)

So glad to hear he had a great first day, and hopefully the talkative comment on Day 2 shows he's having fun and making friends! :) Love the side by side photos from 2008 and this year. Time flies and babies grow up WAY to quickly!
What a difference in the 2 pics! I'm glad to hear it went well. Our guy started Pre-K last week. They are growing up too fast! I noticed Andrew doesn't have his glasses on in any of the pictures; does he not have to wear them anymore?
I noticed the same thing about the glasses. I totally got used to seeing Andrew with glasses, so it was one of the first big differences to me. But of course he has GROWN so much and that is a big difference in the two photos! You should so a picture like that every year you can get away with it. (meaning every year he'll let you) It will be so good to look back on them. You've inspired me to do that with Small Fry too. ;-)
Wow! He has gotten so big!! I hope he has a great year!! Sophie loved loved loved Kindergarten!!!
Wow! He has become quite an adorable big boy. Time does fly by too fast. We start preschool in a few weeks. Yikes! Happy to hear he had a great first few days. Way to go!

You are right, they don't stay little long... luckily there are more where he came from though! (Or unluckily, really, but you know what I mean! :) Any luck slipping the paperwork by Keith? When you go to sign the closing papers you could just shove those in too..... Connor starts Kindergarten tomorrow. :(
Wow! What a difference! Can't believe how big he is getting. Glad the first couple of days have gone well. I was thinking about you this morning on the way in and wondering how it went last week. :)
Wow! I cannot believe the difference 1 year and 11 months make. Andrew really has grown up! I was sad the first day of Kindergarten this year and forgot to take a picture of my little ones (shame on me). I took one a few days later, so I guess that will have to count!
Congrats on the first day of Kindergarten. Trust me, I cried when I left teh schools for Sergei and Ruslan's first day in an American School (Sergei was in 3rd and Ruslan was in 2nd). It is tough!
I cannot believe the difference in the 2 pictures. Andrew is adorable!
Blessings to you and your family,
Myra
WOW - he has grown in to such a little gentleman! I can't believe how fast time goes by:(
Okay those pictures make me want to go in the bathroom and cry for you! In a good way of course, but I just can't get over the change and how big he is. I'm now officially afraid to post side by side photos of Daniel. They grow way toooooo fast!
Tell Monkey that Alligator can't wait to see him next week!
WOW is right! What a difference 1 year makes. What a grown up boy you have!!!
Go Andrew! I hope you're always Wild About Learning!
Wow! Has he ever grown! And looking so handsome, too! "It's not gonna fall off!" I wonder how many times I've said that . . .
Wow they sure grow up quick! Andrew is getting tall. Glad you are all doing well.
