One Year PPR

I don't have time for a long post, but wanted to document a funny before I forget. :-)

We had our one year post placement visit yesterday (Can you believe it?!?!). It was a different social worker then our first and she was great. She came while Andrew was napping, which I HIGHLY recommend to those of you with little kiddos. It was great because we had a chance to really talk about (and brag about) our little guy without being interrupted constantly. It was fun to go through all of the changes since December which I'll be documenting around Andrew's one year anniversary.

So, about 15 minutes before we were finished, Keith went and woke Andrew up from his nap. He was sleeping very hard so I worried we'd have a crabby boy. Much to my surprise, he woke up quite pleasant and began yelling "Hi Miss Teresa!" from the top of the stairs. We had been telling him Teresa was going to be coming to ask questions about him because she was writing a story about him to send to Russia (which he was SO excited about!). The second Keith carried him into the kitchen, he got all shy (which made ME happy - good attachment sign).

So, Keith sits him at the table with his snack and he starts checking Teresa out. She tells him that she has a little boy his age asleep in the car so now his curiosity is peaked and he warms up. Andrew decides to start talking and the first thing he says is: "My dogs.... they poop. They poop a lot, but they go outside." Super matter of fact as though this is something he's been waiting to say all day. I bust out laughing and Keith says "You know, you just can't make this stuff up." And there you have it, Mrs. MOE (Ministry of Education)... just in case you were wondering, our dogs poop a lot. :-)

Ahhh... the funny things kids say. :-)
More later!
Becky

*** Edited to say that the social worker did NOT leave her son in the car alone, sleeping. Her husband dropped her off, drove her son around and then came back to pick her up. :-) All is good... :-)

That's hilarious! Only out of the mouths of babes!

And let me get this straight: your social worker -- of all people -- left her kid sleeping in the car in June while she was working?! If she is doing that, you certainly don't need to worry about your kid talking about poop in front of her! Too funny.

That's hysterical! And here I am typing a post about our weekend with Daniel's funny sayings - but I think Andrew may have him beat with that one!!

Just saw your edit at the end of this post. That makes much more sense, and I feel silly for misunderstanding! :)

Ha ha! My kids are really into using the word "poop" too.

I love how you clarified that the social worker didn't leave her child asleep alone in the car. Boy, if she did...I certainly would be wondering why she was checking up on other families. He!He!
