Nashville Photoshoot

Alex swam at an swim meet in Nashville a few weekends ago. The rest of the family decided to go along for the ride and tour Belmont University while we were there. Alex also took the ACT for the first time that weekend. Needless to say, it was a packed weekend. The swim meets lasted all day Saturday and half a day Sunday. When your child swims only 3 events there is a lot of downtime between events and the bazillions of heats for each event.

The sportsplex we were at also had an ice rink so Keith, Andrew and I decided to give it a whirl. It has been years, maybe decades, since Keith and I last skated and Andrew never has. Unfortunatley, we didn't take pictures because we were too busy trying to keep from falling down. Let me tell you... I am OLD and out of shape. I went around the ice two times by myself and my thighs and butt muscles were on fire. How sad is that? Poor Andrew would take a step, fall, take a step, fall so Keith and I spent the majority of the time trying to hold him up. We let Andrew go around once. Yes.... once because neither of our backs could handle more than that!

We also went outside in the wide open green area and Keith and Andrew chased each other around, tackled each other and the three of us engaged in a quick game of hide and seek. I say quick because Andrew laughs so loud when he's hiding that it's impossible to not know where he is! I took the opportunity to try to capture some non-posed pics of my growing child! He moves so darn fast that some of the best are a bit "soft" but it almost kind of makes the picture. I posted these on facebook so some of you have already seen them, but I wanted to also put them on my blog so I have them for my blog book. (I tried a variety of editing techniques so the coloring is a bit different on each... just go with it! :-))

So I started with "Andrew, stand next to this tree so I can get a picture of you." You can see how well that went over. :-) Next I put on the long lenses and took 6 milion pictures while he was playing with Keith. As you can see, much better (happier) results! :-)

Hope you are having a wonderful fall day!
Becky

LOVE these photos, Becky! Are you still picnik-ing? Yes, I am, to answer your question on my blog. Of course no amount of editing makes a photo as beautiful as the happy child featured in them -- Andrew looks so happy!

Okay, were those edited in Photoshop? I think you did an amazing job. Don't forget to send me that disc.

Does Andrew like his costumes? It was great to see you guys again! I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a Nashville offer for Alex so we can make it a regular thing! :)
