… in 6 more months, surely I’ll be on the cover of the swimsuit edition, right??
The family joined the gym on Saturday and today was our first day going. Let’s just say I have a LONG way to go before I make it as a bikini model especially considering the fact that it’s killing my arm muscles to even type this post. :-)
Anyone that knows me, knows I HATE working out. I hate sweat, expending energy and walking in one spot for 60 mins. So why join a gym? Because liposuction hurts and there doesn’t appear to be a couch workout that is successful, as of yet.
Today I did about 45 mins cardio (treadmill and stair climber) and then headed to the pool to swim some laps. You see, in high school, I was on the varsity swim team and was even captain. There was no doubt that 15 years later I would be able to hop right in and swim without an issue. Well, let me be the first to tell you that I was huffing and puffing after my first 25. I managed to keep myself going for about 30 mins and then I crawled my way over to the hot tub to ease my aching muscles.
I picked Andrew up from child care (which is fabulous, by the way!) and then took him back to the pool. He had an absolute blast until he realized he wasn’t allowed to ride on the slides because he can’t swim well enough. He didn’t like that one bit and if my arms weren’t like a bowl full of jello, I would have picked him up and carried him out of there! Thankfully, after a nice talking to, he calmed down.
I thought working out was supposed to energize you. Instead, on the way home, I stopped and bought a Reese’s PB cup (I ate one, Andrew ate the other), I looked at the back of the package and realized I just negated my time on the treadmill so I came home and took a nap. :-) I think I have a long way to go before I get into the swing of this whole working out/cutting back thing. That Sports Illustrated thing might have to wait 6 years or so and by then gravity will have taken over. Oh well, a girl can dream! :-)
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Becky

LOL! Just reading how hard you worked out makes me want to take a nap! How cool though that you and Alex have swimming in common.
I've heard swimming is the best exercise for the entire body.. to tone up. It's just that whole "getting into a bathing suit thing" I have a problem with. :-)

oh girl, I can so relate. One of my friends (the one going to the beach with us) and I have a little deal going on. We have to run or walk and track our miles. Whoever has the most miles by July 1 wins...and the other girl really does have to wear a bikini!!! for one day. ugh. I hope its not me.
Oh, I'm laughing so hard! You and I sound like kindred spirits. Each night I keep saying, Tomorrow's the day I'm gonna start exercising . . . As for the PB cups, I was in Sweden on Saturday and bought 5 packages. I ate a whole package of 3 by myself on the bus home and then hid the rest (we can't buy them here in Finland). I'm awful . . .
Oh Becky, I am so super proud of you. Keep it up. They tell me that if you do the same thing over and over at least 21 days, it becomes a habit. You are way ahead of me! And to address the nonsense about this lady sending her child back to Russia, I am so sorry for all of your friends who were waiting for their chance to get their "Andrew". Won't print what I think of that lady here, but am so sadden about what her actions has done to the Russian adoptions. I will continue to pray they will realize she was just an odd ball and not idicative of all adoption families. Keep up the good work at the gym, but you didn't say, is Keith and Alex going too?
Woot Woot! So proud of you sista! Maybe we should go to Cancun on our vacation instead, and enter into a bikini contest?! haha!
You're so funny! I think after what you went through you deserved that treat! Keep up the good work and if you could exercise for the both of us that would be great! ;-)
Oh gravity, I curse YOU! :)
I feel your pain. I have been on a major diet/exercise routine and it is excruciating. The only upside so far is that swimsuit season is around the corner and at least my deprivation will hopefully allow a little dignity at the pool???

Ha! Your posts always have me laughing! Good luck with the workouts.
I joined a zoomba dance class a month ago with one of my friends and so far I only showed up twice! I just know I'll go back - I keep telling myself!
