Please keep the families waiting to adopt from Russia, those who have met their referrals and the Russian children in your thoughts and prayers as the United States and Russia try to settle the latest adoption mess.
I'm stunned, heartbroken for so many families and am hoping for the best for everyone. For those of you not sure what I'm talking about, you can read about it here.
To the waiting families - don't lose hope. I know it's hard and the not knowing is even more difficult, but just have faith. There are many, many of us that went through delays and uncertainty and we're here to support you in any way we can.
Hang in there everyone. Sorry to post something so heavy on a gorgeous Friday afternoon.
Hugs!
Becky

I am so sad to hear this. I read about it on FRUA. I cannot believe that someone would actually do something like this...
My heart goes out to the waiting PAPs out there...
I was just horrified when I heard this today. Will definitely be praying.
I was in shock when I read about it yesterday. Today, when I found more and more info I started freaking out about the possibility of having our adoption decree (which is supposed to be ready on April 13 when we are flying back) to be delayed... Carol called Svetlana and it seems to be that the families who have gone to court and have court dates may be OK... The big M word (moraturium) is being suggested by the same Russian oficials who want that, but only time will tell.
It is truly a sad, sad situation for the poor boy who is now in Russia probably scared to death and very concerning the PAPs who are trying to have their kids home.
I still can't believe this. I read this a day or so ago and I still just can't believe it. I'm angry too. I'm upset that that precious child (problems or not) was put on a plane by himself, among other countless reasons that are probably more important than the one I mentioned, like him being scared, or adoptions being suspended.
We'll be praying.
Becky,
You know that Bill and I adopted "older" boys from Russia. Sending them back, even when things got tough, just never really occured to us, EVER! I know your blog is public but boy I could tell a million stories of what our boys went through. Thank God we were able to get professional help when we needed it and knew the resources that we needed to use. I am so sad that one person could mess this up for so many people who want to make a difference in the life of a child and those who want to be parents. This story absolutely breaks my heart.
