We are less than a month away from Alex’s graduation. A month. I just spent the past hour in the hot tub talking to Alex and man, oh, man… I am going to miss that boy!!
One of the school’s traditions is the Junior/Senior wars. It involves toilet paper (lots of it) and anything else they decide to do. We weren’t hit last year so imagine my surprise when I woke up one morning to this:
Keith thought it was the funniest thing ever and Andrew thought it was awesome. We explained to him what was going on and he said “Let’s go get ‘em!”. This boy is going to be trouble when he is a senior. Lucky for me, I didn’t find the defrosted fish from the grocery market on the front step.
That night, Alex went to his first prom (his school prom is this Friday). He went with his friend Lindsey who you might remember from last year. She looked absolutely beautiful and Alex was a charmer, broken wrist and all. (He broke his wrist on spring break when he fell snowboarding.)
Our schedule is packed full the next few weeks… Alex’s swim team is being honored by the board of Commissioners within our county, the Senior High Awards banquet, two AP exams (Calculus and Economics), final exams and then…. GRADUATION!!
It’s happening way too fast, but Alex is more than ready. I’m excited to see him go through the next four years, but will miss him so much!
Toodles!
Becky
P.S. Still going to the gym… and, oddly, I am loving it! :-)

Oh my word I am so proud of you that you are going to the gym- and awed that you are living it!
I can't believe that you have less than a month until graduation. I love hearing all your updates on Alex. It makes me think I will be writing them about my two older boys someday.
Oh good grief- I meant loving it! The gym- loving the gym. I need sleep!
The TP was too funny! Wow - you guys are going to be seriously busy in the next month . . . Good for you that you're sticking it out at the gym!
btw - thanks for fixing my header picture. You rock!
Oh how fun. Hope he's been able to share that much family excitement by TP-ing someone else's yard! ;o) Reminds me of my days working with the youth group. It was "Game-On" between me and my girls and one of the college/career guys and the boys. Funny site to see 7 or 8 girls dressed in came and black walking to the checkout lines at Walmart at 1 in the morning with nothing but gigantic economy size packs of toilet paper. *sigh* the good 'ol days! ;o) (FYI, we are in the supply business, so it you need a large, cheap delivery of TP, you just say the word- we have a branch in Atlanta! LOL!)
*ps- is your header from Shabby Princess- it looked like it at 1st glance- Love her stuff! I normally read straight from my google reader list, so I don't see headers much anymore. :o)
I think the rule is...when your house gets papered YOU get to go with the child and do the next one..it is SO much fun!!! I loved doing it...watching the roll go way up in the air and trail down...its just the eggs that are so bad..that is too funny about the fish. YUCK. Glad you spared.
What a beautiful picture of Alex and his friend! Congratulations on his graduation coming up!!
He is one gorgeous guy!!!
Getting TP'd means you are loved in our area so Yay!!
I can't even imagine saying goodbye to my munchkins when they start college... tears...
Gee - I'm jealous - my trees have never looked that good!!!! You all have so much to be proud of with Alex!! (BTW - love Lindsay's dress!)
Hi! I came to your blog through Mama Fish's. I've been reading hers for awhile now. I also adopted my son from Russia. He came home in Feb 2009. Tomorrow he turns three! We were told he might have some trouble with his eyesight and yesterday it was confirmed. He has a lazy eye that they think is due to poor muscle control and scarring of his optic nerve. Hence, we ordered his first pair of glasses. I wrote on my blog about our journey to the eye doctor and asked who might have suggestions for keeping a 3 year old very active boy in his glasses and Mama Fish mentioned your blog. Any ideas? I saw the photos of your 2 boys. I must say they are handsom young men. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks. And I look forward to reading more about your family.

Has Alecx decided where he is going to college Yet?
What a great photo - Alex is so handsome! I am proud of you going to the gym. I need to get moving on it. I have gained 20 pounds since we adopted Sergei 3 1/2 years ago (and I was chubby then)!
Is Alex going to Auburn? I believe my nephew is going to go to UT in Knoxville, majoring in engineering. He loved Auburn though (so do I - I went there for 2 years!).

I can't believe Alex is graduating this spring. I know it will be a big adjustment for all of you. I laughed at the toilet paper wars. Something for him to always remember and cherish.
I also laughed at your joining a gym. I started walking/hiking about a month ago. We live on a hill, so I walk down and then huff it back up. Great for the buttocks and hamstrings, but ouch. I can't imagine doing laps after a full workout in the gym. You go girl!
Great posts!!
