I usually hate Mondays… I never sleep well on Sunday nights because I’m already anticipating the “fun” that the day will bring. Last night was no different. Add to that a certain 5 year old climbing in my bed and hitting me in the head while sleeping and a certain husband snoring like a freight train and you just wake up from what little sleep you had, feeling doomed.
The alarm went off at 5:15 and with one eye opened, I reached over to my phone. Checked email (I’m weird like that) and saw an email from Ann at Red Thread China. We are using her services to send pictures, a camera, a letter and some goodies to the orphanage. Looky-look at what I saw first thing this morning:
I’m fairly certain someone was trying to get a hold of their Mama…
Then he looked up directions from Shenzhen to Georgia…
Went to the stable and found his trusty horses…
Grabbed his favorite ball and started to head on home?!?!
Okay, maybe the imagination went a bit far, but I really, really think he was trying to call his Mama. Isn’t he such a serious boy?! I hope he’s saving all of his smiles for us because I have a feeling they’ll just melt our hearts!
As if the day couldn’t get any better, I came home to our receipt from USCIS stating our receipt date was 7/5/11. Not too surprised by the date, but so nice to see it in writing. Feels like one step closer to October 1st. (Please, please, please dear USCIS… move quickly!)
Tonight, while finding pics to send to China (note to self: need new family pictures taken), I came across Andrew’s gotcha day video. I balled like a baby and then found videos of his first bath. Oh. My. Goodness. I laughed through more tears as I realized that my little guy has been home LONGER than he lived in the orphanage. How blessed are we to have such an amazing kiddo? He’ll be six in August and I can barely believe it.
To say I’m excited about this newest journey is a complete understatement. I just can’t WAIT!
Happy Monday to ya!
Becky
