6 years

6 years ago today Keith and I were dancing to "To Make You Feel My Love" by Garth Brooks from the movie Hope Floats at our wedding reception. Alex was 10 years old, a mouth full of braces and was a hit with all of the bridesmaids. Andrew wasn't even a thought, yet now we can't imagine life without him.

It's been a weekend of milestones - Alex's first Homecoming dance with a GIRL (gasp!) and our 6 year wedding anniversary! We took Alex to his friend's house last night to meet up with 2 guys from his school and all of their dates. They all looked so wonderful. As I was looking through the pictures today, for the first time I realized how grown up Alex is becoming. I got teary eyed thinking that he only had a year and half left of school and how quickly the time has gone.

So, I know you all are dying to know what we did for our anniversary! Well, my sister, step-mother and I did some meal planning while my dad hung out with Andrew. I wasn't sure what Keith was doing - I was hoping he was enjoying the quiet and was watching football but instead I came home to a clean house, all of the laundry done and dishes put away! The BEST anniversary gift ever! Funny how, your first few years, you want jewelry or things like that and now that we have a toddler around I just want something to be cleaned! :-)

We know it's important for us to still have time to ourselves, it just didn't work out this weekend. We're hoping to go on a date night either next weekend or the weekend after. We're trying to figure out we want to go and what we want to do! So many restaurants we haven't been to since we've been back. We might just spend the day restaurant hopping or something. :-)

Well, I'll leave you with a few pictures!

Yummmm... I LUB spaghetti!

Andrew "found" the moon and was telling Alex and Lindsay that he was going to REACH IT (with his rocketship which is apparently parked in our backyard - haven't found it yet)!

Being cute is such tiring work!

Toodles!

Becky

I love the photos of Alex, his homecoming date and Andrew! They are sooo precious! We did nothing for our anniversary either. I was so sad from riding the adoption travel dates rollercoaster. I think whenever we get our travel dates we'll celebrate in Russia.

First, I can tell you are watching cartoons (toodles).

Second, you are correct in saying that as we get older with children, there are more important things to do on our anniversaries and having a clean house due to your husband is always at the top of anyone's list (or at least mine).

Third, loved the photos. Too sweet. Glad Alex enjoyed the dance. He looked mighty handsome (and yes, I said mighty).

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. Where has the time flown? You were such a beautiful bride. At least you got the best present ever, a great husband. Wish you both decades more of happiness, good health and success, and a great loving family. As for our two boys, they look so handsome. Alex was 6 years ago, and even more today. Andrew speghetti face and all, we're all going to enjoy him growing up too. Best wishes.

Happy, Happy Anniversary. Funny how with kiddos, things like celebrating can be all over the board! Alex looked great with his girl for homecoming!! Andrew sure does lub spaghetti - I do too, but I can't Daniel to touch anything with red sauce. I hope you get to celebrate the anniversary more soon!

Precious stories and picture. Great gift! What a guy! I love the rocket ship scenario. You'd better take an extra look before backing our of the garage in the morning. You never know who may of landed in the driveway!
