Dossier #2 - CHECK!
Well, I'm happy to say that our dossier (minus medicals and FBI clearance) will be on their way to CSS tomorrow for delivery Tuesday morning. I'm not sure what kind of timeline to expect, but hopefully I'll be able to talk to someone at the agency some time this week and find out.
I *tried* to get our FBI clearances taken care of on Friday (prints mailed off) but I was in a MOOD and things didn't go so well. We had our prints taken which was went perfectly and then things went straight back downhill! I didn't follow instructions - shocker! When I put together my first dossier I was SO very careful with everything I did. This time I'm in "rush, rush, rush" mode and seem to have had a partial labotomy. Long story short, we need to do our prints (again) and I need to mail them off (again), but this time I'll make sure to request that they be expedited. That's the difference between a 12 - 16 week turnaround and a 2 - 4 week turnaround! :-)
Now we just have to wait for our dossier to be translated and then registered. So - we're back in "the wait". I'm a pro at this! :-)
I have had a chance to read the message board of our new agency and there are so many helpful people out there! It still feels surreal, being with a new agency, but I am excited!

Congrats Becky! You worked so fast! I hope that it does not take long to get your fingerprints. I think it only took about 3 weeks to get ours! I told them we needed them at the end of December (just to give a date), and we got them about 3 weeks before that! Good luck! It won't be long now! :)
I haven't had a chance to comment on your move yet since we've been in Russia this past week. Our dossier wasn't even in Russia yet and they were calling us asking us to get ready to travel, so I don't think you will be waiting very long. Now that we met our son last week I can tell you it was incredible and I know you guys will be on your way soon!!!

Becky - first off, thanks for your help yesterday regarding the notice we received from USCIS. I couldn't reply to your offer to fax your approval to me b/c my email stopped cooperating with me (we were having a wicked wind storm which caused all kinds of issues). I was able to send USCIS an email asking what the deal was. They've been pretty good about getting back to us the next business day.
Sorry to hear about the oopsie with the FBI prints! They returned ours to us within a week, and 4 days before our requested date. Hopefully they'll be as quick with yours.
It sounds like CSS may be sending us at about the same time as you & Keith. Of course, that means a trip (or two or three) to TGIF!

Wow, that was fast. You go girl! I'm excited about your completion of Dossier 2 and look forward to hearing about travels soon. I'm sure after waiting so long, it does seem surreal to be moving again. You are in our thoughts and prayers!

Way to go Becky - I was in that same mode for our second dossier - called it "get this thing done" mode. Easy to do but sounds like you'll be hearing about your peanut soon...can't wait to hear more :)

It is very likely that with a new agency your time between trips will be signifigantly shorter also. I've already been doing a little checking around as I'm beginning to ponder the possibility of a second Russian adoption in the future. I don't know how near of future BUT Dima does need a little brother to go through life with. I think.
Just wanted you to know that I've been thinking and praying about/for you guys and your adoption. Can't wait to hear what you think about the new agency!
