Who needs a Visa??

Why, we do!!! So, then why are my applications not mailed out yet?? Well, first we needed to wait for new invites. Our day of departure was 16-Jul-08 when we needed it to be 17-Jul-08. That set us back until today because Thursday and Friday our Russian offices were closed because of a holiday.

So, I got the invites today, finished the applications and then needed Keith to sign his. I told him I would leave work around 5 and meet him at Fedex/Kinkos so he could sign. I had until 7:00 which was fedex's cut off, right? WRONG. I checked the shipping cut off time at about 4:45 and low and behold, it was 6:00 pm. No way was I going to make it there in time. Another day lost!

Visa applications are now signed. So, do I risk it and do next day processing? Or do I fork out the extra $200 for same day processing? I already have a cashier's check for $400. If we do same day processing can I just include another cashier's check for $200 or do I need to get the $400 check voided and get a check for $600? Do you see my dilemma here??

The funniest part is, my attitude. I just keep thinking "Whatever." Whatever?!?!? Helllooooooooooooooooo... need visas to travel, dummy!

Help me out dear friends of the internet. Same day? Next day? Two cashiers checks? One?

It'll be a-okay... pending no issues with the visa apps, of course. :-) (The glass is half full, oh yes, it is!)

I say - you'll feel better if you do the same day processing even if it is 200 more - and also 2 cashier's checks should be just fine. Hey - any way they can get paid but again if you feel better then get one. Do what you feel is right so you won't over worry anymore!!!! You're going to Russia!!!!!!

Becky, Im a worry wart like you so I would do the same day processing if you are flying out this weekend, and I would get ONE Money Order. I don't think they actually take cashiers check- I think I read that somewhere... Not to freak you out further. (Is that what you did last time?)
We just got out new invites today also, so I know right where you are at on the anxiety level over the visas, believe me! Good luck!

Ohmygosh, you crack me up! Guess I shouldn't have kept you on the phone so long this morning, huh? Did I get your thought process of track when I started mentioning Peanut's plane ticket home??!!

Anyway, I would do same day processing if it were me. Even if it is $200 more. When we went on our 2nd trip, we sent 2 money orders (we messed up the amount somehow) and a cover letter explaining all that was attached just to help avoid confusion.

Hope this helps out. Call me anytime if you need help with anything. Can't wait to see you again (hopefully) during the college tour!

Okay, just take deep breaths, breathe in, breathe out! It will all work out, just have faith. I used a travel agency who did our visas, so I can't really help you out with this one. My thought would be to do the same day processing and pay the extra money (just go pour some miracle grow on that money tree out back!) and be done with it and get those visas in your hand and check this thing off your list.

Same day, what's another $200 on the money train?

I really have no experience from which to pull. But I agree with the others. Spend that extra $200. May not be necessary...but you'd certainly KICK yourself if you didn't & then it ended up that you should've. Hey, what's $200 more?? In adoption world, $200 is about the equivalent of 50c in the civilian world!! ;)

I say pay the same day processing and if it makes you feel better, get just one cashier check, so it is simpler. In the big picture, $200 more is nothing and your piece of mind if worth way more!

Chiming in here ... SAME day processing! I also think two checks are okay as long as they add up to the correct amount. BTW, love your attitude!

Like everyone else, same day processing; for and extra $200 (each) I think I would want the peace of mind. And as for the checks, I think 2 are fine with a cover letter. Good luck and everything will work out! Amy

OMG, you are almost on your way to your son. I assume you mean you need it to say June 17th, not July; it kinda got me confused, but with everything you need to do a little typo like July instead of June is small in comparison. I'm really happy for you!

Hi Becky - I am probably too late in chiming in, but I hope you did the same day! I have a feeling that either way you will be ok, but at least you can relax a bit knowing that it got there sooner. Hey, in the scheme of things, what's another $200! Everything will work out either way! Good Luck!

Just go pick $200 off of that money tree in your backyard - isn't that what we're all doing? ;)

Hey girl. It sounds like you are over analyzing all your decisions. Don't worry...you'll be fine. I know you've already made these, but don't panic when the next round comes. Just make a decision and know it will all be okay. You will have your boy soon!! I over analyzed everything especially when packing. I was relieved when we boarded the plane. We might not have everything, but it was too late to worry.

Your package will be there Thursday or Friday!

I am w/ everyone else in doing the same day. What's an extra $200 at this point in the game right... ha ha and you will know you will have them in time to travel. Try not to worry and take deep breath. Are you flying out of Atlanta on Sat?
