2 more days!

2 more days until our dossier is on it's flight to Russia! :-)

Someone asked me about the wait time... great question and one that is not easily answered! The projected wait time that our agency quotes for a referral for a boy less than 24 months is currently 8 to 10 months. WHOAAAAAA, you say! Please keep in mind there are a lot of factors that play into that 8 to 10 months. Accreditation, the number of people in front of you in line, how quickly the region hands out court dates, etc... Unfortunately, I have no concrete answers/time lines for any of those.

I think that one of the leaps of faith you take when going to a new region is just trusting the unknown. Trusting that it will happen when it happens and you'll have ample time to prepare both mentally and physically. Trusting that you're in good hands with your agency. Trusting that, in the end, everything will work out for the best. I suppose that is just adoption in general though.

Planning is the hardest part because you JUST DON'T KNOW! Right now, I'm preparing for 3 months. I figure that gives me enough time to have the "What I need to do before my first trip" list done (which I haven't even started), enough time to make sure I have the finances in place for trip one and gives me a nice 5 - 7 month buffer to relax (ha!) if it truly takes the 8 - 10 mths the agency quotes. I'd rather be over prepared then under prepared.

I'm having lunch with Laura tomorrow. She and I are going to work on our lists. Either that or gripe about how everything is taking too long already! :-)

Melissa has made it to Vlad! Yea! She and Nathan were getting to see Little I again today for the first time in 17 weeks!

That's all for tonight, folks!

Congrats on almost being done! Let's hope for accrediation soon which will lead to a shorter waiting time - if not - we should be plenty prepared...right?!?

The wait time will be a distant memory when you finally get that call. Now just enjoy the time you have. It will come before you know it. And this comes from someone who waited 7 months for Max's referal and 3 month to travel after that and 4 months between trip 1 and 2. I am a pretty extreme case- but it all comes together the way God plans

Congrat again on the dossier being shipped. What a great feeling - we're all gonna make it through the wait - just email me or call anytime when you need an ear!!

Congratulations on almost being in Russia. That is exciting news. I've been in Louisville, so I've not had time to e-mail the international doctor in Alabama. I might try this afternoon or tomorrow for additional information. Then, I'll talk to Norman and let you know what we decide. I also thought I would ask if there is anyone in the Nashville area just in case (being only an hour away).

Looking forward to your next post stating...In Russia!!

8-10 months sounds great. We're still being told 9-12 months for a boy.
Very exciting that your dossier is (almost) on it's way.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for commenting on our blog. I remember when our dossier was on it's way to Russia, it was very exciting! I'll be praying that it won't take 8-10 months for you guys too. Now that agencies are being reaccredited, I'm hoping that everything will speed up a lot!=) Cool to know another Kras couple!
Blessings,
Penny
