Happy belated 4th of July to everyone and what an exciting day it was in the adoption world! The first wave of accreditation was given to 8 agencies - 7 US agencies and 1 French agency. Our agency wasn't one of them but from what we hear, this is the first wave of many. Fingers crossed! Congrats to those of you whose agencies were approved. This has been long coming and I hope to see a lot of referrals for everyone in the coming months!A very kind person at the CHI St. Louis office reviewed our dossier for us since our coordinator is on vacation. It was perfect! The agency now has to add their documents to it and hopefully this time next week we'll know what region we're going to and then everything can be sent off to be translated. Rumor has it, translation takes about 2 weeks and then we'll be registered in the region we've chosen. Hopefully, by August 1st, we'll be registered!
There isn't too much else going on around here! We had a nice cookout yesterday with my dad, step-mom and brother-in-law. Alex is at a youth convention with church in Orlando, FL, K is working a ton and I, thankfully, have tomorrow off! There will be an attempt to clean out a closet, but more than likely I'll be laying on my couch napping or spending time with my poor neglected "kids" (3 dogs, 2 cats). There will always be time to clean the closet, right?
P.S. MandyJo - I love part 2 of your story!! I can't figure out how to comment on your blog or maybe you don't allow comments? Regardless, I just wanted to let you know that so far, it's a GREAT story!!

LOL...How about a closet remodel? I know some people who do a great job! HA!
Have a great day off...although I will miss chatting with you. It was about the only thing that got me through this horribly long and boring day!
Here is to a good week next week for both of us!
I look forward to hearing which region is chosen for you! Hopefully, CHI will be reaccredited soon so that things can start moving for a lot of people. You definitely finished your dossier at a good time, considering the reaccreditations have begun! Enjoy your time off!
Congratz on getting the dossier approved and on it's way.
Becky -
I don't know if I'm set up right to accept comments or not? This is the first time I've had a blog so I don't really know what I'm doing? :( - so if you have any ideas on what I could check let me know? I'd like to have comments - but I haven't even gotten the first one! I'm so happy that your dossier is at CHI in St. Louis. I can't wait to hear what happens once you pick a region or are given a region - I'm really not sure yet how that works. Oh and about my posts ... that is how everything has happened and lead me to this path of adoption. God works in mysterious ways I guess. I just keep following this path hoping I'm going along at the right pace. Paying off bills and saving money is the path right now. Tee hee! Not always so much fun ... but a means to an end. I know I'll get there! Thanks for the encouragement! -MandyJo

I think that I might have fixed it? Who knew you had to set up the comments first? LOL! Anyway I hope you have a great night!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments! I'm so glad that I've got a few online adoption friends at this point. Are you and Keith requesting a boy or a girl? I love all the bedding from Kidsline.com - it's not the most expensive, but it's not the cheapest and the quality is very high. Fabrics are beautiful also. - Hope you have a great weekend!

I was so excited to read your blog today and see that accreditation has occurred for several agencies. I hope that means that our agency will receive accreditation in the next month or two. I'm so excited to read that your dossier was completed successfully and that you are on your way. I'm excited to see what region you will be sent. How fun. We have our interviews the 16th and our home visit the 23rd. I hope we can have our dossier documents completed by the end of July awaiting approval from CIS. Then, we hope to have our dossier in Russia late August or September. This may be wishful thinking on my part, but we are going to try. We just received our video series in the mail (upon our return from Canada). We hope to watch the first series tonight to take the test tomorrow. I hope to finish one per weekend.
Best wishes-
Carey and Norman too!
Youth convention in Orlando- are you refering to the C&MA convention??? I was over there on Thursday. Small world, if so!!
