What an exciting day it's been! You would have thought I had gotten the call for my referral when M called today to talk to me about regions! I was hyper as can be! Drumroll..... We were given the choice of Astrakhan or Krasnoyarsk.
We're pretty sure we've made our decision, but I still have some more research to do! I want to make sure we make an educated decision. Astrakhan is an established region with CHI and Krasnoyarsk is a brand new region for CHI. Two families just returned from their first trip in Krasnoyarsk and so I hope to talk to one of them and get their feedback. It's so tough making a decision like this because you want to make the "right one" even though you just have to go on your gut!
This is going to be a short post today because (a) I'm tired and (b) I need to do more research tonight so that I don't get fired for surfing the web at work all day tomorrow. I'd love any feedback anyone has on either of these!
Night!
Becky
P.S. You can see Astrakhan circled on the map (it's a 2 1/2 hour flight from Moscow) and Krasnoyarsk isn't listed on the map about but it just so happens to be right about where the little Peanut is standing (it's a 5 hour flight from Moscow).

Well, since you won't be THE FIRST family going to the new region it may not be a bad idea. Talk to the families who just went through it. If so, how neat that you planted your little Peanut right on top of where he/she is right at this moment - gives me goosflesh!
Ooh, ooh, ooh. I vote for Astrakhan!! Not that I'm biased or anything since that were our boys our from, and our future daughter:) Seriously, Astrakhan is a wonderful region but I'm sure you won't go wrong with either region. CHI will absolutely take great care of you. If you have any questions about Astrakhan feel free to ask. We're actually leaving in a few minutes for the CHI reunion picnic in St. Louis but we'll be back Sunday afternoon if you want to email me any questions (allygirl430@yahoo.com). So exciting!
P.S. We were the first family in Astrakhan in 2003/2004 and it worked out perfectly. So being one of the first families isn't too bad - just a little nerve-wracking.
I know you will make the decision that's right for you and your family. Either way, the end result will be the same - you'll have a child to hold on to forever. Let us all know which one you choose!!

Wow! I'm so happy for you guys! I can't wait to hear all about your region and which one you picked and why! WHOO HOO! You are getting so much closer! I hope you have a great weekend :) I've got to get back to work before I too get fired from surfing the internet! -MandyJo
Congratulations on the region referrals. We're so excited for you to finally have an idea of where your little peanut will be adopted. We will pray for you as you decide what region to be placed and wish you the very best of luck!!
Many blessings!!
Hi,
Did you think to ask your CHI rep which one would have a longer wait time? I don't know if that matters, but for us it helped us choose Vlad, knowing the other waiting families had requested only girls, and we were open to boys or girls.
Astrakhan is a wonderful region from what I've been told, but I'd also talk with the recently traveled families to the new region.
YEA! I'm excited for you!!
Adrienne
