Hey All!
This is actually Mandy, Becky's sister. She just lost internet and is extremely exhausted, but wanted me to post to give you all an update of her Gotcha Day! Hopefully I will be able to translate it all well enough for you readers out there to understand... :)
The day started out well. They went and picked up Andrew, changed his clothes, and took him on his way! He didn't cry, did not fuss, and was a little happy camper acting like he was ready for the field trip. He did great in the car and loved seeing all of the machinas (cars) and kept "ooooo"ing and "GASP!"ing when he saw the cars. He started to get fussy at the end of the ride, but Becky gave him her I-Pod with Russian Fairytales and that made him happy!
(Wow, this blogging stuff is fun...!)
Uhhmm, continuing....
They went and completed some paperwork (not sure of the specifics, so I will let Beck fill ya in on that), and then headed to the flat to make dinner. Andrew had a blast being at the flat, ate his dinner like a big boy (immitating Keith saying "Mmmmmm!" when eating), and then dinner was followed with a bath. All went well until it was time for Andrew to get out of the bath, in which he threw a little temper tantrum :-) They laid him down to bed and he kept sitting up and rearranging the pillows and covers - ha! Finally, after Becky sang lullabies "9,000 times" as she put it, Andrew is currently sound asleep like a rock. (In the bedroom of course, so it looks like the parents already got booted to sleep on the couch :-) )
And that, my fellow blog readers, is a jist of what transpired today! I hope you all enjoyed the video. I was, of course, balling 30 seconds into it and cannot watch it with out crying, but at least they are happy tears!
Now...if we could just blink our eyes and have it be next week then the newest addition to the Mixon Family will be here, Yay!!
Take care all, and thanks for reading/following this journey. You all have been there for Becky and Kieth and have been with them through this whole process, which I know she is most appreciate of.
It as been an exciting time for all of us, especially today!
Sooo, Becky will fill you in the rest of the details tomorrow when she has internet (God, please let her have internet. If not, then Andrew will have to witness Mamma and Pappa throwing a temper tantrum!)
Take care,
Mandy
And Paka from The Mixons in Russia!

Thanks Mandy for the blog update. I'm so excited to read about Becky and Keith's Gotcha Day. Andrew is a doll, and I just love seeing his sweet face. I know how busy a little one can be, so I hope they get some much needed rest. I am so glad you were able to blog and give us the highlights of the day!
We are so excited!!
Manda, you are a wiz at blogging! I enjoyed your internal dialogue as well :-)
Thanks Mandy for the Gotcha Day update. I enjoyed reading your interpretation of their 1st day. it brought chills to my arms. That's funny that how he claimed the bed on his 1st night.
Looking forward to upcoming posts. Thanks!
How exciting!! Great video, I continue to follow your blog and it has been great, we are still waiting on our first travel date to go and meet our boys, we are told it will be sometime this week but we will see. Great job blogging to all and its great to finally see that cute little face of Andrew. Thanks for all the tips with the traveling and food suggestions it will be a great help for us when we travel and bring cheerios for our boys :). Have a safe trip home and look forward to following your blog.
Good job Mandy!! I am so glad Andrew did well. We've been praying for his adjustment and only one temper tantrum and only 9,000 lullabyes? Pretty good for a days work!!
Thanks, Mandy, for stepping in for Becky, Keith & Andrew. I've been thinking of the entire family and hoping that Andrew was able to settle into the apartment with minimal fussing. Sounds like he already has 2 parents wrapped around his little finger if he's claiming the bed already! Go Andrew!
We are so happy for the entire Mixon family...sisters named Mandy included!
Thanks for posting Mandy! I loved the video. Becky and Keith's gotcha day was a long time coming - he is beautiful!
Congrats to the Mixon family!
Myra
You're a natural Mandy! You told the story just as Becky would have herself...thanks for updating us. I'm sure your family is soooo anxious for Andrew to come home (especially your dad who is already gearing him up to be the next Derek Jeter..he-he).

YAY! SO Gald it was a stellar day! They all deserve the best for the long and sometimes difficult journey. May every day be this good!
What a great day. So glad he did well. He is so adorable. What a cutie.
Thanks for the update! I've been wondering how the day went. Sounds much smoother than our Gotcha Day, but then again we were complete strangers. Heck it sounds better than our night last night! I'm sure they are thrilled to give up the bed for the night given what it means for them.
Thank you Thank you Mandy for the update. Everyone is right, you blog just like Becky, naturally being her little Sis. I've been checking every half hour waiting for the details of first night. But I did get to HEAR him when they got him home and Bruskha (spelling??) got to tell her newest grandson hello and that she loved him. I still want to get that giggle for my cell phone ring. Does anyone know how to do that? It is sooo adorable. I was sad to hear his hugger blankie he liked sitting on had to be left behind because of the illness there, but delighted I can get started making him another one. Yipee. No, my grandson is not going to be spoiled. (Right!) Now, if prayers are going to continue to be granted, our 3 Mixons will be home in nothing flat. PS Mandy, if internet down still, blog about your & Alex's visit and long flight home. Love to whole family.
Becky,
I am a client of Keith's and have thoroughly enjoyed keeping up with your journey to get your adorable little boy. He is so precious and I am so happy for you and your family. May God continue to bless you all and bring you home safely.
Congratulations!
Sherri & Alan Jessie
Congratulations Becky and Keith! We're so happy for you all! I loved the video! Andrew is such a cutie and looks like he has a ton of personality! I hope your first night with him is wonderful!!
Aunt Mandy, you did a great job, even if you did digress! It's just not a blog without some digressions.
I'm glad to hear things went so well for them on Gotcha day and I am hoping for internet access tomorrow so we can get more pictures of Andrew.
How dare you woman make me cry.. OMG.. i am speechless with tears streaming from down my face. You know I have to say thank God for the family that decided that Andrew needed another Mommy and Daddy - because you guys are God's gift to him and he is God's gift to you... What i would given to be there and have seen all this transpire - but atleast you have this video. Your faces show the love for that precious child... I could go on but the more I do the harder I cry - Wow.. I can't wait to show this to Anna - she will be so excited...
Thanks to Mandy for the update..
He looks so happy and so does the 'family.' Keith's face is full of joy - the face that it takes some dads to get years and years after they have children. you all look like you have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Something about the way Keith looks at him pulls on my heartstrings... However the one of that precious angel sleeping on you on the couch - HOLY COW - I NEED ONE OF THOSE SO I CAN FRAME IT FOR MY OWN HOUSE...
Sending you all praises for your strength. Prayers for your challenge that you accomplished, and lots of love and hugs...
What a cool big brother and aunt he has..
Wow is all I know what to say... still with tears streaming from my face...
