Picture Post - Moscow Trip 2, Day 9

It's a picture post! I'll start out by telling you that we had an AWESOME day today. Thanks to Dinia, we took a trip to Sergiev Posad. It was so great to get out of the city and head to the country. We were given a tour by Sveta who was absolutely awesome. She fed us, we had vodka toasts, champagne and a tour of a waterfall and the Monastery. Lots of pictures below.

First, some Red Square pictures from Tuesday night.

(don't you just love the "as soon as possible"?)
At the waterfall: (the waterfall is thought to be holy water. People carry water containers to bring the water back with them. They also have a pool where people jump in (water is freezing) and pray 3 times - dunking under water after each prayer. It was really neat to see.)
The road to the waterfall. Just like 4 wheeling!
At the Monastery: (the Monastery is home to largest seminary school in all of Russia. There are many cathedrals. Women must cover there heads when within the Monastery walls. Sveta told us a lot of history about the area. Being horrible at history, I couldn't even repeat it to you! As a matter of fact, I'm not even sure I have the facts right above. You might be best googling it!)

The end of an awesome day with family and friends:

Paka!
Becky
P.S. Since tomorrow is a low key day I thought I'd entertain you with a few short videos (once I put them together). My sister and I singing karaoke and all of us singing a Russian song and using clappers after lunch today. Ohhhhhhh... you don't want to miss it! :-) :-)

I'm so glad you have been able to experience so much of Russia and Moscow. I feel like me missed so much by not staying during the wait, but our wait would have been in Vlad and not Moscow, so it is not really comparable. I'm so glad you've been able to spend time in Moscow with Mandy and Alex and allow them to experience the orphanage setting too. I know you will miss them when they are gone as it makes it feel more like home when they are there.

I loved the last post too. Not that it was a great moment, but it was just another "welcome to parenthood" post that we all go through. And yes, the 2's and 3's can be tough at times. They are my favorite b/c when they are cute, boy they are cute. However, they can be a handful too ;o)

Thinking of you and wishing you well!!

Hey Becky & family!
Thanks for the great pictures! Can't wait to see the peanut! Sorry I haven't been online too much lately - it's just been too busy w/ my truck in the shop! I'll have to post something about that on my blog! I mean in all my spare time! LOL! Anyway I'm glad to hear that you are having a good time! I'm praying for you guys and especially the peanut to have an easy transition. Can't wait to hear more!
